I'm heading to the RnR Hotel to see The Vita Ruins and check out Kenna. I'll get my Middle Distance Runner on next month at the Black Cat, but (the) Iota is a great venue to see them. I saw them there last year and they were brilliant. Plus you get to see These United States, who recently recorded their very own Daytrotter session.
Also, I talked to Luke and Fico from Cedars on Wednesday night after the TVotR show and they told me that they have been added to the Cinematics / Changes show on May 10 at the Rock and Roll Hotel. I am so pissed I'm going to be in Vegas and miss that. But hey, Vegas. Still, I highly recommend that show if you're in town.
Oh, man. I wanna go back to Vegas. I remember being a bit upset about missing the Spinto Band 2 years ago when I went to Vegas but uh, obviously it was worth it.
As far as the Cinematics...they're not something I would normally dig but I spent 3 days with them when I followed my friends Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and ended up liking them quite a bit. I wasn't terribly crazy about their live show but there were a few songs I enjoyed so I bought the cd. The fellas themselves (especially the lead singer) are really nice and.....not gonna lie....they have sexy Scottish accents. Oh, yes. And they're quite photogenic which is something you might appreciate.
